Need to add beautiful lens flares, optical lens flares and sparkles or stage light effects to your artwork or photograph?
Then you’ll need to create these visual effects yourself or get some pre-made ones.
Make sure the lens flare or stage light is high quality and without missing edges, as is common in many free images we found online. See the examples below. If you get poor quality PNGs of lens flares, optical flares, stage lights and sparkles then you’ll need much time to clean them up and repair in Photoshop.
How to Make a Lens Flare Effect for Your Artwork?
According to Wikipedia, Flares are usually caused by a very bright light sources shining into the image, which produces a haze. Most commonly, this occurs when taking a photo with the camera pointing in the direction of the sun (either when the sun is in frame or the lens is pointed in the direction of the sun), or stage lights etc.
The Flare manifests itself in two ways: (1) as visible artifacts, and (2) as a haze across the image. See this strong flare in a CCTV camera lens image.
The Visible Artifacts, usually in the shape of the lens iris, are formed when light follows a pathway through the lens that contains one or more reflections from the lens surfaces.
The Haze effect makes the image look “washed out” by reducing contrast and color saturation (adding light to dark image regions, and adding white to saturated regions, reducing their saturation).

Depending on the type of camera and lens you use and the light source, its direction and angle as well as quality of the ambient light will be the resulting flare yo are able to capture.
We suggest you experiment a lot with various cameras and lenses and light conditions to capture your flares.Next, once you finally captured a bunch of attractive and promising optical lens flares, you need to remove the background from them.
This, however, is extremely difficult to do.
Unless you took your flare pictures against a 100% black backdrop background.
So the easiest choice, when you need some perfect lens flares, optical lens flares or stage lights and sparkle effects for your artwork – is to simply to buy them.
If you buy or download flares that are not perfectly made, you will have missing ends and work to clean them up.
