CGElves is Hiring! Join the CGElves team!
We’re looking for 5 part-time writers to help add content to our blog.
We will need our writers to:
- Find good video tutorials on YouTube and Vimeo for 3D software as well as VFX breakdowns, making of’s etc., and make posts about these videos
- Find written tutorials and make posts about them
- Find freebies online and write posts about them
- Make posts about beautiful artwork and about artists
- Write about Industry news
We’ll provide basic training and initially you will not be required to come up with your own ideas, but we do expect that within a month as you get the hang of things you can start coming up with your own post ideas, in-line with what we need.
Since we only want you to work part time, this is ideal for those wanting to find additional work/gigs in your field of interest, or while you are studying and need to have a solid, secure base to cover your living costs, or as extra income.
- You need to know about the CG Industry, know software names and terminologies.
You don’t need to have any degrees or certificates; you can be a student or self-taught, but you DO need to know basic things like what 3ds Max and C4D is… And to be able to identify a good tutorial and artwork when you see it. And have keen interest in this field of 3D and CG arts.
- You need to have good English skills.
You don’t need to be a native speaker, but you do need to be able to write without grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. There’s not much writing needed for most post types, no fancy journalistic/ magazine writing style required. However, the few sentences you do write must be free of errors.
- You MUST be able to Read and Understand instructions and to Follow them.
We will provide you with some tutorials on how to make posts on our site and optimize them (i.e., on-page SEO).
You must have GREAT ATTENTION to DETAIL.
- You must be a FAST LEARNER.
And capable of working unsupervised, asking what you are not sure of, or what you do not understand.
- You need to work fast and accomplish a lot.
We expect you to be a hard worker and get stuff done. Chatting on FB will need to wait for off-work.
- This is an entry-level job.
Not a studio hiring you to do 3D work, but you will get other valuable experience and can say you work/ed for CGElves. We are young, have a lot of growth plans and are investing heavily into our marketing and platform growth.
- It’s part-time for 20 hours a week. For min. 6mo.
Possibly more if you wish and if we need, but you must be able to devote us at minimum 20h/week.
We are only interested in those who can work with us for at least 6 months.
- We expect you to be available to begin work right away.
No later than 1-2 weeks from getting the job.
- Make a free WordPress blog and practice (never mind content, can be any topic you choose):
(a) Making 1-2 posts with YT video in them and text above and below with nice spacing.
(b) 2-3 posts with images, aligning them right/center/left. Add alt tag and title tag with description in them to images. Link an image to another post in your blog.
(c) Give at end of article attribution to source of info/ artwork in a smaller sized font and with a lighter color.
(d) Make an outgoing link in content of each of your posts – to wikipedia as example, with a no-follow and add a title in links.Google what you need to figure out.
Let’s see you problem-solve!
Read a basic HTML tut online to figure out these basics if you cannot manage them.
Get acquainted with making simple posts prior to the test day.
This is something that may give you an edge over others.
We want to see if you can make your own stuff and come up with ideas without having to spoon feed you.
And if you have what it takes, even if your results are not perfect, but you can take action and do.
If you’re interested submit your information via the form below.
In 4 weeks from now, all candidates will need to go through a test day.
You’ll need to have a free Skype account and to have shown us prior to test your WordPress blog.
We shall select the 5 best (and most time-efficient) writers and hire them.
