When using the default Marvelous Designer male avatars to create clothing, you’ll notice that the male avatars are missing a vital part down there.
This poses a problem when designing pants since the clothing hangs in an unusual way on the men.
Like they’re hanging on a woman. :/ Floppy. Sad. Smooth without a single lump or realistic wrinkle.
This is especially problematic if you don’t know how to model/sculpt in 3D and aren’t using your own custom male avatars.
Luckily, a kind 3D artist came to our rescue! :D
Rory Björkman generously provided us with a 3D model to give the Marvelous Designer male avatars some realistic volume down there.
(Rory is a very talented artist who makes gorgeous 3D models (we especially love his badass cars) which you can see on his Artstation here.)
Go here to download this free Marvelous Designer male avatar extension OBJ model.
To use it in Marvelous Designer, simply import it as an additional avatar from the File menu (Import-Add Avatar) and if needed, position it using the gizmo.
You can control how much of an effect this male extension has on your clothes (i.e. make it look bigger or smaller) by rotating it or moving it further away from the avatar’s body.
If you move it away from the body (into the air) it will look bigger, and if you move it into the avatar’s body, it will look smaller.
And the results are…
…aaaaah, much better! Now we get some realistic wrinkles in the pants.
