What does my chocolate mixture have in common with this shirt? (Click to enlarge to see fabric texture)
To create the soft minky fabric textures for the shirt I used an image of a cocoa mix I was making.
I found while experimenting creating textures that a closeup of a cocoa chocolate mix or a closeup of fluffy white flour, makes for a very nice cuddly looking texture similar to a minky fabric or a soft plush towely fabric.
After taking a picture of a cocoa mix I turned that into a seamless texture, then using Shadermap I created a Normal Map and Bump Map.
In Keyshot, I loaded in the seamless Normal map and applied it onto my clothes, scaled it down and this is the effect I got:
Of course another way to create a minky fabric texture would be to use an image of a real world minky fabric.
What I wanted to show is that even food can make for lovely fabric textures. Experiment and have fun!
